Brief introduction of products
This version shielded hidden pen camera is a new advanced MINI DV product which is put out to market demand. It has the functions of advanced digital video, photographing, video recording, mobile storage, PC camera and sound-control. The appearance is exquisite. It is esthetic and practical and easy to carry.
Operation instruction
Components definition
LED Indicator: (Part 5 in figure) Status indicator LED, indicating the working states through combination RED & GREEN LED lights on/off/flash.
TF card slot: (Part 7 in figure) TF card need to be inserted as instruction in figure.
BOSS button: Press & holding for operation of POWER on/off & switch, start & stop photographing & video recording.
USB port: Data transferring & power charging.
Mic & Lens: Collect sound signals & visual capturing.
Shield cover
Slide down the shield cover, the camera lens is visible & in working state. After the use, push the shield cover and camera lens is protected.
Power on
In the power-off state，press the function BOSS key (if the card is not inserted，the light flashes) and hold for seconds，the RED indicator light held in ON state. Press the BOSS button & keep for 4 seconds, all lights are off, and current video file will be saved, the device will power off.
Motion detection
In the video-recording state, press & hold the BOSS button for 2 seconds, green light is on & the device turn into MOTION DETECTION state. When there are any changes in vision scope, it starts recording while the green light flashes. The camera will not power off automatically and manual operation is required. To quit the mode, press the BOSS button & hold for 2 seconds, the device enter manual recording mode. User can power off the camera by press & hold the button for 4 seconds.
Note: The Motion Detection functionality doesn't work in the hostile condition such as flashing lights or lights varies frequently without order since the vision changes cannot be detected correctly, the video recording action will not stop except manual operation. So does it when the camera is fixed on the significant vibrating objects.
Video recording
In the standby mode with RED indicator light is ON, press the BOSS function key shortly to start the video recording. The light will flash continuously & slowly. After powering on, If the device is in kept in IDLE state for 3 seconds, it will start recording automatically, with the RED indicator light flash slowly.
Cycle Recording
If the TF storage card is full, the new files will replace the oldest ones sub-sequentially as a cycle.
PC camera function
This device can be used as PC web camera. If the device is powered on, it will enter PC (web) camera mode automatically even if in any states when connecting to USB port of a computer. Online video call/ conference are available in this state.
Note:
Due to discrepancy of hardware or software systems, the computer may fail to detect the camera. Once it enter removable disk functionality instead of PC camera, please remove the device and restart, then re-connect to the computer for new detection.
Install the software driver for the first use. The installation program can be fetched from the attached CDM-ROM or supplier directly.
Power charging
Charging functionality works when the device is connected the device to the computer or power adapter. The GREEN indicator light flash slowly during charging and holds in GREEN after full charged.
Note:
There are no memory effects for high-capacity polymer lithium battery, and the device can be charged any time. To get the maximum power capacity and standard service time duration, it's recommended that start charging until the battery is run out for the first 5 times charging action, and ensure the battery is full charged.
To maximize the power storage of the battery, please keep charging after the indicator light is in the stable ON state.
Time setting
Create a new file named "time.txt" with the following format:
(Year. Month. Date. Hour. Minute. Second. State).
For example:
With "Time stamps"：
2009.01.01 12.01.01 YWithout "Time stamps"：
2009.01.01 12.01.01 N
Keep the blank space between DATE & TIME.
Y/N indicates YES and NO, time setting is displayed when set as Y while disappeared if is N.
Copy this file to the ROOT directory and disconnect the removable storage device. Turn on the device and take recording and then turning off normally, the new time setting work successfully.
Troubleshooting
When the storage space is not enough, both RED & GREEN lights will flash about 5 seconds and the device will power off after saving the current video file automatically. Please backup the video files & erase the files in the storage memory if you need to continue recording.
When the battery energy is low, both RED & GREEN lights will flash about 5 seconds and the device will power off after saving the current video file automatically. Please re-charge the device to continue recording.
If the device doesn't work due to incorrect operation or some other causes, RESET hole can be used for restart.
Optional accessories
Slide down the shield cover, the camera lens is visible & in working state. After the use, push the shield cover and camera lens is protected.
